The BSNR is delighted to announce that from January 2025, an annual programme of NHSE-funded monthly online teaching sessions will begin. Each themed session will run on the morning of the 4th Thursday of each month. The programme is targeted at ST1-3 registrars, and all UK trainees are encouraged to attend. Each session will include four themed lectures with interactive cases, shared via PACSbin.

The Diagnostic Radiography Special Interest Group is presenting two free CPD webinars on ‘Principles and Applications of AI for Radiographers’. These are suitable for radiographers of all levels and include examples in most modalities, but if you attended the previous Study Saturday or Study Evening sessions an amount of the content will be repeated. Further webinars on new topics will run from autumn 2025 and through 2026.

This face-to-face course is aimed at CT radiographers that are new to CT and will cover the below topics: CT Technology and Physics Patient Preparation and Care Scanning Modes and ParametersPaediatric Scanning Image Quality and radiation Dose Basic CT Anatomy and Pathology

This is an introductory course aimed at staff working in imaging departments in North West England & London NHS trusts, who wish to develop a basic knowledge/awareness of human factors that can have a direct impact on the healthcare environment. The NCL Imaging Academy Team would like to invite you to two online sessions around Ultrasound Reporting. They will complement each other, but there is no requirement to attend both sessions. The ultrasound report forms the legal documentation of the ultrasound examination, and poor quality of reports can affect patient outcomes due to unclear communication of the examination findings. Session One: Best Practice in Ultrasound Report-Writing. 9th July 12-13.00. Guidance from the SoR, BMUS and RCR will be reviewed and explored, along with tips for structure and terminology to appropriately guide the patient pathway. An element of the session will be an interactive workshop to development your skills in report-writing. It is suggested (but not required) to bring a few examples of your reporting (they must be anonymised- no patient data please).Session Two: Using Generative AI to enhance Ultrasound Report-Writing. 16th July 12-13.00. This interactive workshop will be centred around how you can use Generative AI to enhance your reports. It will focus around the practical application, critical analysis of the outputs, and ethical considerations when using GenAI in reporting. It is suggested that you have some experience with writing reports; please bring a few examples of your reporting (they must be anonymised- no patient data please).The course will be led by Angie White, Ultrasound Practice Educator for North Central London Imaging Academy and a lecturer and module lead with Brunel University of London. She is a internationally trained sonographer with over 20 years experience in ultrasound; the last 10 years she has worked in the UK across multiple imaging types and locations and will share her varied experience and tips for successful report-writing.You will receive the appropriate Teams link on registration, and a CPD certificate for each session upon completion of a feedback form.Audience: Open to all with an interest in developing and refining their ultrasound reports.Accessibility Support: Captions can be turned on in the session, anonymised options for participation, and please let us know if you need further support. Effective communication is essential in radiology, yet D/deaf and hard-of-hearing patients often face significant barriers when accessing imaging services. This webinar aims to raise awareness of British Sign Language (BSL) within radiology practice and provide radiographers with fundamental knowledge to improve patient interactions.

The improvement coaching sessions provide an opportunity to explore challenges and share learning with peers. The course has been put together by a collaboration of Medical Physics departments in and around London with the aim of providing high quality RPS training in an online format during the Covid-19 pandemic.Course material will be delivered through e-learning in advance of the "live" training day, online lectures and virtual workshops in small breakout groups. Delegates will have the opportunity for discussion with an RPA. For those wishing to receive a certificate of RPS training, there will be a short open-book assessment.The core of competence stated in the HSE Ionising Radiations Report No. 6 for Radiation Protection Supervisors will be covered. The lectures and workshops will draw on the wide range of experience of our RPAs and Clinical Scientists.Details of the learning to be completed in advance of the training day will be sent to you after registration.The final timetable and details of how to join the live training will be emailed a few days before the event.

This one-day event is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the patient pathway in chronic pelvic pain, from initial presentation to diagnosis and to treatment. The study day is intended for the ultrasound imaging specialist, and will provide informative sessions on how best to image, and care, for the pelvic pain patient with a patient-centred and multi-professional approach.
